Environment Week 06/05/11

Today marks the first day of Burnaby's Environment Week 2011. The theme is "Waste Reduction - Making a Difference" and there are lots of activities for you and your family to enjoy. Have a look at the official poster to find out whats going on in your community. And make sure to join Urban Forest Group out on June 12 at 10 a.m. for a guided walk of Central Park. Walkers meet at Patterson Skytrain station.

An exciting year is ahead: our activities will include park interpretation for local residents, stormdrain marking, invasive plant removal events, and juvenile fish trapping. Dates will be announced soon. Don't hesitate to get in touch with us If you are interested in joining UFG or helping out with specific events.

Let's celebrate World Rivers Day at Foreshore Park on Sunday, September 26.

Looking ahead 09/08/10

After two stormdrain marking events this summer, members are planning UFG's next event to take place in the fall in November. We will again be in and around Central Park in Burnaby. Now that the weather is cooling down, we can look forward to getting warm working in the outdoors!
